On the Road Again - Harghita County

It's the morning of July 9th and we are leaving Brasov. There are no words to describe the countryside and the breathtaking view of Romania. It is truly magical and fairytale like. It sparked some sort of fire in my heart, Im so in love with this place and its people. We were heading to a place called Lacu Rosu which means the Red Lake. On the way there, our guide took us to a place that has, mineral spring water coming out of the ground. There were 2 water well of 2 different kinds of water which benefitting different things in our bodies, super healthy for you.We took all the empty bottles from the bus and filled it with spring water from both wells. And we stayed there for a while drinking as much as we could out of both wells. This water turned brown after a while so the walls of the place are filled with peoples names written on them and hand prints. So of course we wrote our names on the walls too. We did not see it appear yet, but I'm sure it appeared the next day.

While we were on our spring water break ,my mom found a fruit tree that she used to have when she was young living in Romania, its fruits are called Corcoduse which means Mirabelle in English. The mirabelle plum, also known as the mirabelle prune. It is believed that the plum was cultivated from a wild fruit grown in Anatolia. They are known for being sweet and full of flavour. The fruit is primarily used in fruit preserves and dessert pies, And its juice is commonly fermented for wine or distilled into plum brandy.

It was time to go back on the road, we had a long way ahead of us. On the way we saw a lot of gypsies selling mushrooms and other goods on the side of the road, but what we really wanted is honey, so Daniel promised us he will take us to a special place to buy the honey. One amazing thing that I never saw in my life that we saw in Romania is, in the country side on every light pole there is a huge nest and in every nest lives a family of cranes. For miles and miles you see nests with cranes in them, absolutely an incredible thing to see. You will get to see it in the video.

Finally we got our wish and Daniel stopped in this little honey stand in the middle of the road. It is a family owned business and they are bee keepers. Daniel told us that they were Hungarians, since this area had more of a Hungarian population. It was a husband and wife that selling all kinds of honey products. Also they had this special drink that is made out of pine cones that is super healthy for you and great when you are sick. It taste like you are drinking the forest, and for a Taurus like me that is so earthy, it just tastes like heaven.

The drive to Lacu Rosu was so beautiful, full of farms, nature, gypsies, farmers, sheep, horses and mountains upon mountains. And of course green, everything is so green, that I cannot describe it in words. If you want to enter a magic world of beauty that is beyond words, I highly recommend to watch the video full screen and with volume. It is a display of true magic! Enjoy!!
