After Dracula's Castle we continued to a place called Râșnov Citadel, which is a medieval citadel that was build as part of a defense system for the Transylvanian villages exposed to outside invasions. Râșnov Citadel is a historic monument and landmark in Romania. It is situated in Râşnov, Brașov County, in the immediate vicinity of Brașov.
After the Râșnov Citadel we continued to our hotel and got ready for dinner in the Council Square which is the unquestionable treasure of Brasov located in the heart of the old town. Built in the 13th century, once used as a meeting place for councilors is now used as a nice stop in the old town for picturesque scenery with views to colorful architecture. The Council Square boasts the Town Hall built in the beginning of the 15th century making the square one of the finest in the country. At the top of the Town Hall building is the Trumpeter’s Tower once used as a watchtower. The place was packed with people of all ages. Just so beautiful!
This was some, packed with activities 2 days, and we loved every minute of it!
A gypsy woman selling flowers, and of course we bought some flowers from her.
This evening our tour guide Daniel had to stay in the hotel because he had to fix a belt on our bus, and this will be the only evening that we will be in a restaurant that most people did not care about the food. I was the only one that enjoyed my food. It was a place where they cook the food in a cauldron. I thought it was pretty good. We had to split for that meal since my cousins are vegan and could not fine what to eat there. Wasn't a very successful evening. But we still made the best of it, in a very beautiful place.
Pierra was so tired by the time we got to dinner, that she slept throughout the entire dinner, which will not be the first time or the last. FYI this kid never falls asleep like that, so you know we had a couple of full and fulfilling days.
