We are the Rozen family

We are the Rozen family, a pretty small family at number but huge at heart. We were always a very close family. Our roots are all from Romania. Last year on August 18 of 2016 we lost our beloved family member, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle, Marius Rozen at age 80. So this roots trip to Romania is in his memory. We were planning this trip with him and unfortunately he did not quite make it. He will be there with us in spirit. We miss you so much, our beloved Marius. Marius was a very gentle man. He was one of the nicest, smartest, kindest, loving people on earth. He truly made our world a better place. He was one of those guys that you could have an intellectual conversation about anything and everything. He loved Politics, Math, Geography, Chess, and he was constantly thirsty for knowledge. He loved helping people in need. He would have always been there for you if you needed him. It was always a joy to be around him. And most importantly he was always there for his family. He loved and adored them. Thank you Marius for simply who you we’re. A great and very special man. This trip is for you! Grandma Betty was born in Romania and had 3 children during WWll in Bucharest .The eldest was David, then Marius, and the youngest was Stella, a beautiful little girl. They lived in Romania during the war trying to survive in the most difficult, harsh conditions of a gruesome war. Moving back and forth from hiding, to orphanage. Many times they had nothing to eat and. They were very poor. Luckily they all survived the war and later on in life they immigrated to Israel and built their own lives and families. David The oldest son moved to Canada and married Eva which was also from Romania, They had a son named Joseph. Tragically a few years ago we lost his beloved wife Eva and his beautiful son Joseph. David still lives in Canada. Marius the second son, married his beautiful wife Sofi who is also from Romania. She was born in Constanța near the Black Sea. Marius and Sofi had two children, Zissy, the eldest and then Avi. Sofi’s parents were Pierre and Silvia. Silvia Passed away while delivering Sofi. So Pierre took the roll of being Sofi’s both mom and dad. She was always forever his precious little pearl. They always had a very special bond. Pierre was a very talented man. He was a Chef, a Candy Maker, a Doll Maker, a Manicurist and Pedicurist , an incredible Pastry Chef, and on top of all a great father to his daughter Sofi. They also immigrated to Israel to escape the harsh conditions of a communist country and go the the Holy Land were they felt that they belong. Thats where Marius and Sofi met. Sofi is an incredible woman, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is a loving person, funny, and does not take life too seriously. She dedicated her life to be the best mother to her 2 children and the best wife to her husband and now the best grandmother to her grandkids. Her laugh is contagious and she makes everyone around her happy. Sofi and Marius were married for 49 years. They were the most loving, beautiful couple, they were soulmates. Its the type of couple that would dance in their room together for no apparent reason, just because. They had a very precious bond, they were inseparable. This year they were supposed to celebrate their 50th anniversary on May 10, 2017. And this trip is also for celebrating just that, their beautiful life together. As their daughter I can say they were the best parents anybody could have asked for. Not one time did we ever see them fight, we grew up in a very loving, caring home. Their eldest daughter Zissy moved to the United States in her early 20’s, and there is where she met her soulmate husband Jay. They have been together for 24 years and on June 28, 2017 will be married for 20 years. They live in Los Angeles, California and they have 2 beautiful girls Nadya and Pierra. Their older daughter just turned 12 and this trip is also to celebrate together with the whole family, her Bat Mitzvah which in the according to Jewish law, a girl is considered an adult from the age of twelve. Mazal Tov our dear Nadya! Avi their youngest son, who is a Graphic Designer for the schools in Tel Aviv and an incredible photographer, just had a beautiful baby girl on September 1, 2016, named Shay Mari. She is named after her grandfather Marius that passed away 2 weeks prior to her delivery. And the third and youngest sister of the three is Stella, she got married and had two beautiful kids named Dubi and Yochi. They currently live in Eilat which is located near the Red Sea in Israel. Stella is the most kind hearted woman. She always puts others ahead of her. She is the biggest animal lover. Recently she got a most prestigious humanitarian award from the Mayor and the city of Eilat, for saving pretty much any animal that needs rescue in the city. Well deserved Stella, Bravo!! We are so proud of you. Dubi, Stella’s eldest son is a realtor in Eilat married to also a beautiful woman of Romanian descent, Yael. They have 3 beautiful kids. Guy, Tal and Shahar. Stella’s youngest daughter Yochi moved to Canada where she met her handsome husband David. They moved back to Eilat Israel where they had their 3 gorgeous kids, Gal, Noa and Yael. David is a Fire Fighter, and both he and Yochi are Vegans and big activists in Eilat, dedicating their lives to others. So now that you know a little bit about us, You are very welcome to join our beautiful journey to Romania as we are discovering our family roots.

About Me - Avi Rozen

Vector and pixel artist, a graduate of the Avni Institute of Art and Design Tel-Aviv. Lives and works as a graphic designer in Tel-Aviv. Influenced by technology, computing, mathematics, physics and biology. Tries to find a new aesthetic by blurring the boundaries between design, painting and photography. Demonstrates a new visual world of reassembled images built from pixels. Believes that by concealing data, the eye is drawn to the missing points and invites the viewer to complete them. The more the eye focuses on the missing data, the more the viewer becomes attentive to the piece, and gets involved in active dialog with it. Using different techniques: Vector design, Paper Folding, Photography, Oil on canvas. Painting only with black oil color on white canvas creating unique contrast. Among other things, exhibited in IMAGINATION, Israeli Art Exhibition from 2008 to 2011, Art About Munich 2014, Art About Frankfurt 2015 and more.
